The 2023 Nissan Pathfinder's Intelligent Lane Intervention (ILI) helps prevent lane departures with warnings and steering assistance. When ILI shows as off, determining whether it's manually disabled, temporarily unavailable, or malfunctioning guides the appropriate response.
Pathfinder Lane Intervention Features
ILI on the Pathfinder monitors lane markings and provides corrective steering when unintended drift occurs. The system works with Lane Departure Warning to provide both audible/visual alerts and physical steering assistance. Both features depend on the forward-facing camera.
Why ILI May Show Off
ILI displays as off for several reasons. Manual disable through settings or steering wheel controls turns off the feature. Camera obstruction causing temporary unavailability may show as off. System detecting conditions outside operating parameters (speed, road type) disables ILI. Faults requiring attention show off status with warnings.
Checking ILI Status
The instrument cluster shows ILI status. Check the settings menu and steering wheel controls to verify whether ILI is manually disabled. An indicator showing ready means the system is enabled. Warning messages accompanying off status indicate detected problems.
Restoring ILI
If manually disabled, re-enable through settings. If camera obstruction is suspected, clean the windshield and restart. If fault warnings appear, note the messages and have the system diagnosed if they persist.
