When to Service the Transmission
If your 4Runner has over 60,000 miles without a fluid change, a drain and fill with genuine Toyota WS fluid is advisable. The 4Runner holds about 10 quarts total, but a drain only removes about 4 quarts. Multiple drain-and-fill cycles gradually replace more fluid.
